NIGHT EXPEDITIONS

This expedition is only for the brave. The adrenalin is guaranteed. Half of the action in the forest takes place at night, when the sun falls and the dark reigns. During the Amazon night, the fireflies’ shine covering the forest like blue light drops; the wind blows bringing us new fragrances, the animals sing and the trees lose their leaves.

We leave in a canoe and quietly we go into the forest to learn its secrets. The environment becomes mysterious and frightening too. We remember the myths told by the shaman about magical animals that turn into humans during the night, about trees that become sacred oracles, about mischievous spirits who observe us in the dark and it is not difficult to believe all this in the dark.

Only provided with oars, lanterns and much courage, we enter by the brooks until arriving at some small lake to find lizards and Caymans. When we see them, we hypnotize them with our lantern, and if they are small, we can catch them with our hands. If they are big, we observe them and we change course. It’s unbelievable the amount of life that we encounter. It is common to see bats, nocturnal birds, aquatic serpents, giant anacondas and insects like tarantulas and dragonflies that look for their food under the night protection.

We return to the lodge and we sleep lulled by the amazing sound of the night forest.
